Welcome back, gents.
In today’s video, I’m going to be talking about the secret behind the Mission Fragrance Set and what makes them so fundamental to your goal of self-improvement. Sure – to the average passer-by – these colognes make you smell good. Well, let’s be honest here, they make you smell awesome! However, that’s just a TINY part of the bigger picture.
The Mission Fragrance Set is not ‘just’ 3 colognes; these are what I like to call scent triggers – a constant reminder of the man you know yourself to be.
Let’s take a moment to recap. Remember the reward cues we talked about in the last part? Refresh your memory with this diagram:
The Mission Fragrance Set, sitting in its display box, is your context cue. Whenever you see it, you’ll be reminded of the greatness within you.
To help me explain this principle – I liken it to my first Rolex. As many men do, I bought my first Rolex to celebrate a milestone in my life, and even just looking at it instantly fills me with pride and accomplishment. Why? Well, it’s simple – these were the emotions I experienced at the time of purchasing.
At this point, you should have already started trying out your Scent Triggers and should have started associating them with Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Remember, when you first spray your Scent Trigger, you should take a few seconds to stop and think of a time you were Honorable, Courageous, or Committed. Step by step, you will become that man and you will start associating your Scent Trigger with these emotions.
Over the next few sections, I’m going to introduce you to a series of tools and concepts you can use daily to take those small steps towards improvement. You can use these yourself, or discuss them at work to help others.
For today’s Action Task, I’d like you to take a minute and repeat one time you were Honorable, Courageous, or Committed. Write your answers below.
